As part of the development plan of the city of Khorfakkan, Sharjah Ladies Club – Khorfakkan branch has completed maintenance and development works to become fully prepared to welcome back its members and visitors in its new and advanced form.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club, praised the continuous growth and expansion of Sharjah Ladies Club.
Her Highness said: “Sharjah Ladies Club is one of the key drivers of change among Sharjah Government organizations. Since its establishment in 1982, with the generous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, SLC continues to grow& provides women and children in Sharjah with a high standard of services in a safe environment. SLC’s journey saw the club marking its presence in smaller towns of Sharjah with ten branches which strive to maintain the same level of quality and standards which is a testament to their outstanding success. Today, Sharjah Ladies Club stands as a destination for women and children which provides several leisure, entertainment, cultural, sports, and creative services that supports the advancement of women and the community of Sharjah.”
The Khorfakkan branch is one of the oldest branches of SLC, with an establishment dating back to 1996. In an effort to sustain its facilities and raise the efficiency and readiness of its buildings, comprehensive maintenance and development works were carried out in cooperation with the Department of Public works in Sharjah , so that the branch maintains the high levels of efficiency that it has always distinguished its services, initiatives and achievements since its establishment.
The maintenance and development process in the branch witnessed the introduction of new additions, most notably an external walk-way for women and another one for bicycles, in addition to changing the views of the branch and adding a stunning visual view that gives a distinctive quality experience to club visitors.
The renovation works also included Layaqa center to provide an integrated building equipped with aerobics classes hall, a hall dedicated to various sports equipment according to the latest specifications, sauna and steam rooms, a cycling hall and a personal training hall that provide a sense of privacy.
In addition to the changes made in Marasi Restaurant, Riwaq Events and Hospitality, and Ibdaa’ Talents Center, for which a new building was established with fancy halls fully equipped for arts and creativity training.
H.E. Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of the Sharjah Ladies Club and its branches, confirmed that the various branches of the club, across the cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, are constantly undergoing development, modernization and maintenance in line with the permanent development process of the Emirate of Sharjah and in line with the vision and directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qassimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club, to provide the highest standards of excellence and sophistication in the club’s services, reflecting the civilized aspect of the Emirate and providing an inspiring and safe environment for women.
The urban buildings and facilities of the club are characterized by their modern, contemporary character that meets the needs of women, which supports the club’s mission in embodying a distinct and unique destination that brings women together in an atmosphere of privacy, safety and luxury, and places the club at the forefront of the pioneers of integrated services for women in the Emirates, Al Serkal explained
On her part, Mrs. Amna Al Shinasi, Director of SLC Branches Affairs Department, said that the club’s branches are exerting all efforts to achieve the strategic goals and maintain its position as a leading destination for women in the eastern and central regions of the Emirate of Sharjah. Emphasizing that the distinguished results achieved by the branches are added to the successes of Sharjah Ladies Club in supporting and developing women’s lives.
The Khorfakkan branch has witnessed distinctive changes and expansions as part of the renovation works it had recently undergone, and welcomed its audience with best services and highest quality standards, within full compliance with all preventive measures and precautions instructed by the concerned official authorities in the country to ensure public safety, she added.
In turn, Asma Al Naqbi, the director of SLC – Khorfakkan branch, stated that the new form of the branch, reflects the interest in meeting the requirements of the next stage of the club’s journey, through the services it provides to women according to the highest international standards. Al Naqbi also stressed the club’s management’s keenness to develop everything that would contribute to providing a healthy, safe and private environment that offers various services for women and children, that meets all their needs.The new branch of Khorfakkan keeps pace with the development initiatives in the city, as it is distinguished by its recreational, sports, social and cultural services for women, girls and children, she explained. It also provides exceptional opportunities for creativity and development of talents and skills.
Modern Facilities and Services
The club hosts a fitness center “Layaqa Fitness Center”, which is concerned with the field of fitness and physical health, as it includes all facilities, services and training programs under the supervision of specialists in related fields. It also includes an Olympic swimming pool equipped according to international specifications and standards, and offers many programs and services such as free swimming and training sessions as well as aqua aerobics.
The branch includes “Ibdaa” Talent Centre, which offers selected packages of technical courses and workshops, which contribute to developing and discovering skills and upgrading talents and capabilities.
“Marassi Contemporary Dinning Restaurant” also offers a wide variety of traditional and modern dishes by masterful chefs, characterized by its privacy atmosphere. While the halls of Riwaq Events and Hospitality represent the ideal destination for holding events and occasions such as engagement parties, graduations and social events, in addition to seminars, workshops and various institutional events.
The club also includes the “Tala Program” of the “Ibdaa” Talent Centre, which constitutes a suitable environment for children and offers educational programs and workshops for the age group from 3 to 5 years.
It is worth noting that the branches of SLC were established in various cities and regions across the Emirate of Sharjah with 10 branches distributed across the eastern and central regions of the Emirate of Sharjah; in Khorfakkan Ladies Club, Kalba Ladies Club, Diba Al Hisn Ladies Club, Wadi Al Hilu Ladies Club, Al Dhaid Ladies Club, Al Maleeha Ladies Club, Al Bataeh Ladies Club, Al Hamriyah Ladies Club, Al Thameed Ladies Club, and Al Madam Ladies Club.
