The Sharjah office of the National Media Council (NMC) has presented a special Commemorative Plaque as a token of appreciation to Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs and wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The plaque recognises Sheikh Jawaher’s role in helping Sharjah rise into the Capital of Islamic Culture.
In a statement, Sheikha Jawaher said, “It is a tremendous honour to see that our combined efforts across Sharjah have seen us emerge as a shining beacon of cultural expression not only in the Arab world, but the entire Islamic world. Sharjah has always prided itself in being a family-centred community that preserves the past, celebrates the present and innovates the future.” Mrs. Noura Noman, Director-General of the Executive Office of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, accepted the plaque on behalf of Sheikha Jawaher at a ceremony that brought together delegates from the National Media Council.
Sheikha Jawaher has played a pivotal part in cultural excellence in diverse roles that have included being Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Cultural Institute in Switzerland, the Emirates Woman Award for Literature and Arts, the Qur’an and Hadith Ladies’ Award, as well as Patron of the UAE Women Writers’ Association and numerous other organisations that benefit girls, women, youths, families and the society as a whole.
Sheikha Jawaher’s cultural accomplishments are in addition to her many humanitarian and business roles.
