Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohamed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, issued s resolution establishing the Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and appointing Asma Mohamed Hassouni as the Director of the Media Office. This resolution is part of the organizational framework for the media activities supporting the functions of the SCFA Departments, and ensuring the implementation of the best media practices and appearance at the local and international levels. This serves as a crucial link between the Council’s Departments and the families in Sharjah.
Asma Mohamad Hassouni, a passionate young Emirati, holding a Master in Literatures of Communication from the University of Sharjah, has worked as a Deputy Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah for over 10 years, and working at the same time as News Anchor at Sharjah Broadcasting Authority since 2017.
Hassouni was assigned with so many projects such as: working in the Kingdom of Bahrain for 6 months at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in 2016, and working as the Head of Corporate Communication in Sharjah Child Friendly Office, which was obtained by the UNICEF in 2018.
She was involved into so many protocol committees of various events in Sharjah, including: Investing in the Future Conference (IIFMENA) and Women’s Economic Empowerment Global Summit (WEEGS). She has also worked as a Government Relations and Communications Consultant in Sharjah Architecture Triennial, to enhance its vision of architecture and its mission in the local community in cooperation with local authorities in Sharjah.
Her passion for media started from an early age, as she worked when she was ten years old and for 7 years in presenting programs on Sharjah TV. Then, she had a turning point for her personal perspective of the media when she joined Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah in 2007, where she loved the work of films documentary with controversial topics, as she excelled in it until she managed to produce two documentaries during the years of study until she graduated with distinction with honors.
Hassouni is characterized by high skill in communication and dialogue, and is attracted by youth groups where she can exchange views and learn about different cultures and ideas. Hassouni believes that the secret of success lies behind the consolidation of relations, which would facilitate the process of building bridges that contribute to moving the wheel of development.
The Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs is an integrated system that focuses on media strategic planning for the initiatives of all Departments at SCFA, playing a vital role in achieving the strategic objectives including, building an effective and strategic media system, and establishing strong local and international partnerships and relationships with various media platforms supporting families.
The Director of the Media Office will formulate effective media policies and strategic plans to ensure the sustainable development of communication and media operations. Additionally, the Media Office will highlight the most significant efforts of SCFA departments at regional and international levels, and build an integrated media team with specialized competencies in the field of family.
