Security is a key element of community building

Sharjah: The 15th edition of the annual Family Forum organised by the Family Development Centres (FDC) in Sharjah under the slogan “My Nation’s Security is My Family’s Security” concluded on Thursday.

The forum was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.

A number of lectures, workshops, and social studies were conducted during the two-day-forum, which was held in five FDC centres located in Dibba Al Hisn, Kalba, Dhaid, Madam, and Khor Fakkan.

During the forum, Sheikha Jawaher issued a statement in which she stated: “Security is a life goal, and its concept include all life aspects. Security is classified according to our need to live in an ideal environment that serves as a safe haven for humanity. There is food security, health security, social security, cultural security, as well as domestic security of family security. Each one of these will not be achieved without a secure home that empowers members of the society to fulfill their missions and duties.”   “Security is a key part of all community building elements, and the most important one is the [family]. Family is the first home of the human, where he learns fundamentals of life and gradually understands what is going on around him, as much as his consciousness can. Over days, months and years, he understands his home that embraces his family. Therefore, the citizen should learn how to support his home with thought, effort and creativity,” Sheikh Jawaher added.

The security of family is connected to the nation’ security, as no family can live in a home facing violent challenges which they can not withstand, she said.

She also thanked the Family Development Centres for holding the forum and its slogan. She wished all the participants success in delivering goals aimed at serving the nation and the Emirati family
