Jawaher opens largest ladies centre in ME

Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and the wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, stated that the creative young lady constitutes an indispensable pillar for the growth of the family and society.

Her statement was made during the opening ceremony of the new headquarters in Al Qarayen area in Sharjah. The new headquarters will be the largest centre for young ladies in the UAE and the region, and boasts a wide array of state-of-the-art facilities fully equipped to host training programmes in a wide range of cultural, artistic, sporting, scientific, and creative areas.

Sheikha Jawaher added that building the human capital of the nation has been a main concern for the UAE since its establishment from the belief of integral roles that women play in securing sustainable growth and development.

She said, “Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is inspired by a vision of their endeavours to foster a generation of creative young ladies who adhere to their social and cultural roots, are up to date of the current developments in the world, and are able to actively contribute to UAE’s society.”
She stated that Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah provides a platform for talented young ladies (aged 12 – 18), who can find opportunities to show their creativity, as well as their artistic and intellectual visions, and are supported to gain the necessary skills for positive participation in local, regional, and international activities.

During the ceremony, Sheikha Jawaher launched the new corporate identity of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah. The new identity is in line with the national identity of the UAE and is an effort to elevate the position of the Emirati young lady.
The building includes a fully equipped 345-seat theatre, as well as halls dedicated to music, drama, and art workshops, where young ladies can learn the skills of writing scripts and participating in the performing arts. She furthermore attended a number of training workshops that were being held at the musical and art units.

She also visited the sports complex, which contains an Olympic-size swimming pool and an aerobics hall. During her visit, Sheikha Jawaher attended several training workshops and sports matches that were taking place in the building, and she autographed a volleyball to mark the occasion.
Sheikha Jawaher also praised the management’s eagerness to make the facilities accessible to young ladies with special needs.
Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, the Assistant Director of Sajaya, expressed her gratitude to Sheikha Jawaher for her continuous efforts that are geared toward the development the UAE young lady. She emphasised that the new headquarters will help attract increasing numbers of young ladies, enabling the organisation to elevate the quality of the programmes and activities, particularly in the fields of art, theatre, and music.
In parallel with the opening ceremony of the new headquarters, Sajaya hosted an open air event for the public during which visitors toured the facilities and services and learned about the various programmes that they offer.

They also enjoyed a range of games and workshops that included snakes and ladders, caricature drawing, photography, candy making, doll making, wax work, and creative thinking games, as well as face painting, and a children’s zone. Refreshments were provided by a range of food kiosks. The fun-filled ceremony was enjoyed greatly by girls and their parents.
